Happy Friday Reader

It’s been a full week of catching up on work after stepping away for my water fast—and diving deep into preparations to host you for the upcoming FREE week of Journaling I'll be hosting July 7th -11th. Have you registered yet? If not, now is the time! You can sign up here.

I’m also mentally, emotionally, and physically preparing for my upcoming lumpectomy and the radiation that will follow shortly after. And I’ve been sitting with this truth:

Even when life throws you big, life-altering curveballs, the smaller everyday turbulence doesn’t stop.

While I was fasting, my washer/dryer died. Not exactly a welcome expense when I’m already paying out of pocket for health treatments not covered by insurance—and nearing my max deductible. Then, yesterday, the hot water heater went out.

To be fair, I’ve had my home for 12 years with very few major issues, especially considering it’s 93 years old. Still… the timing isn’t great.

If I’m not careful, I could spiral into “woe is me”—but that’s not what I’m here for. I’m here to name the truth without getting lost in it. Feel the feelings and let them move through me and that practice is just that, practice and still a work in progress practice.

Big, beautiful, and brutal things happen all at once: a scary diagnosis, the death of a loved one, the epiphany that changes everything, the quiet decision to start again… and then the universe hands you another curveball.

I could tell myself the story that I’ll always feel buried by unexpected expenses and stretched by a salary that’s not yet in alignment with the life I’m building.

Or I can remind myself that I trust the The Great Creator/Universe. That everything is happening for me.

That no matter what, I can hold my own hand through all of it.

And maybe that’s enough for this week.

Together We Float,

  • What curveballs are life tossing your way right now—and how are you holding yourself through them?
Name them without judgment. Then ask: what would it feel like to offer yourself gentleness instead of grit? How can you be your own steady hand in the chaos?
  • Where are you carrying a story about what’s not working in your life—and what might shift if you told yourself a new one?
What story have you been repeating quietly (or loudly)? What story do you
want to believe instead? Can you write it down as if it’s already true?
  • What do you need to lay down right now in order to move forward with more ease?
Maybe it’s an expectation. A habit. A pressure you’ve placed on yourself. Let this be a space to name it, release it, and make space for something softer.

1) While Painting up a storm over the weekend I devoured the latest V.E. Schawb book: Burry Our Bones In The Midnight Soil. I LOVED this one. It was a much needed reprieve from all of the health/wellness/healing books and podcasts I've been listening to. It is is historical fantasy about a vampire if you like that sort of think you'll LOVE this. This year, I’m keeping a running list of every book I read and what I thought — You can access it here, there are already lots of goodies on it and all of the books I read while I was away are listed!

2) A few weeks ago I told you about how during my prolonged water fast I took a deep dive into learning about the importance of not just filtering your water but structuring your water as well. I used
The Analemma Wand to bring in coherence and then I used the Echo Flask to bring hydrogen into my water. Echo Flask reach out and gave me a 10% off link I can share with all of you if you want one too! Use this code at check out ALISHAWIELFAERT10

3) There are still a few spots left in the upcoming Terroir Tours Southern France Wine, Women, Wellness Retreat where I get to co-facilitate teaching the morning yoga & meditation as well as beginner friendly watercolor you can play with to capture creative memories of your trip! These retreats are decedent experiences and if you are in need of a respite with other amazing women then I HIGHLY recommend joining us.

4) Over the last few weeks I've been creating art furiously! I'm calling this latest collection The Healing Project Collection. All pieces made post prolonged water fast. They are special and I hope they will resonate with anyone healing from anything like, a scary diagnosis, heartbreak, grief, or illness. A few of my personal favorites so far are these: Layers of Healing 48x40 Abstract Acrylic on Canvas and Solar Healing Triptych | Three 24x24" Canvases | Acrylic on Canvas. If you love what you're seeing, mark your calendars. This collection will launch on Tuesday August 12th at 10AM EST.

5) The thing truly getting me through this time right now is meditation.
I've been a Joe Dispenza meditation junkie for the past three months and doing these meditations almost daily since April. I especially like his heart coherence meditations, The love your body meditation and the Tuning Into New Potentials Meditation.
